Planet Kitesurf: Why we love Kirsty Jones

Our friends over at Planet Kitesurf have an exclusive offer available: the ultimate luxury kitesurf clinic, in one of the most alluring spots in the world, with one of the hottest names in the sport… And only six spots available! Read on…

Kirsty Jones is Planet Kitesurf Holiday’s most recent brand ambassador and she will be hosting a luxury kitesurf clinic in Mauritius, offered exclusively through Planet Kitesurf, this September.

As a three-time Kitesurf World Wave Champion, a KPWT World Cup Wave Maters Champion and the first person to kitesurf from Ireland to Wales in 2002, Kirsty Jones is an inspiration to kitesurfers the world over.

Here are just four reasons why we at Planet Kitesurf Holidays love Kirsty Jones:

1. SHE DOES IT ALL!

Kirsty spends her time between Dakhla, Wales, Mauritius and Lanzarote where she competes, runs guided kitesurfing trips, participates in media events and photoshoots and coaches kitesurfing! She really is a woman on the go – we love how she shows us that you can do what you love and make a living at the same time!

2. SHE LOVES SHARING HER PASSIONS WITH OTHERS…

Kirsty Jones’ guided trips are more than just progression clinics. She always aims to teach, share, guide, empower and unite others in the passions, challenges, fears and dreams! She wants everyone to find freedom, energy and peace in both mind and body through the ocean and we love that she is so willing to share this passion with us!

3. SHE IS A YOGA BABE…

Kirsty believes that yoga is a highly beneficial compliment to any sport. She says that, “a regular, simple yoga practice, brings our bodies and minds back into balance, increases our strength, flexibility and balance, helps us to listen and connect to our bodies, breath, intuition and the elements.” That is why Kirsty always loves to include yoga sessions in her kitesurf clinics!

4. SHE IS ALWAYS UP FOR A CHALLENGE!

After the kitesurf crossing Kirsty did from Ireland to Wales, she knew she wanted to do more long distance crossings – always for a good cause of course! So she decided to kitesurf from Lanzarote to the Sahara, raising money for charity. The wind changed direction along the way, meaning the crossing took nine hours of non-stop riding but, ever up for a challenge, Kirsty says that she can’t wait to kitesurf it in reverse now!
