“The filming was intense. We had an amazing time, but we were shooting all day and reviewing clips every night – two full weeks non-stop. Building and fixing features took time. Some setups didn’t work. But the core idea stayed the same: two friends pushing what they love about kiting and enjoying the process, trying to reflect what true kiteboarding means to us…”
Ramiro Gallart takes us behind the lens of his recent video, Second Home, filmed together with buddy Nicolas Gilomen. It’s a love letter to the discipline of park riding and to Brazil.

RRD’s annual pilgrimage to Cape Town to product test and gather media content for the upcoming season was a roaring success this year, even earning them this issue’s cover.
“It was really special to work together. You knew the day when shooting at full moon would be best. There is a short timeframe to make it work but you knew how to get the results with flashes. That was a really cool experience, it’s really sick looking back at the pictures. And we even got an award with one of the moon photos…”

“Life before kiting was all about dirt bikes. I liked the ocean but wasn’t a huge fan of it. I didn’t like the thought of hanging out on a windy beach… Then we went on a family holiday to Mauritius… The minute I touched the kite, I knew it was for me. I remember saying to my dad that I was going to become a pro at this sport. I just knew straight away.”
Jett Bradshaw might have needed some convincing to give kiting a go, but once he finally tried it he was hooked… He talks us through the journey so far.
“I watched our local ripper Nuno drop in late on a steep right, threading the needle as the lip threatened to clamp shut completely. He made it through the barrel by a hair, only for the backwash to rebound off the sand and launch that whitewater into an absolute rocket of a kicker. Without hesitation, he exploded off it into the air, sticking the landing with pure style… “
