2016 Formula Kite and KiteFoil European Championships

NOCHER AND KALININA CLAIM FIRST EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES ON FOILING KITEBOARDS

Yacht Club Cagliari proved to be an ideal racing site to showcase all of the potential that foilboarding has brought to the sport of kite racing.

Large crowds witnessed exciting close racing thoughout the whole week in champagne sailing conditions, leaving a smile on the face of competitors and officials alike. A complete schedule with a total of 52 races made the 2016 an event to remember for everyone, and raised the bar to a high level for the upcoming competitions of the season.

This excellent video by Icarus Sports media is a complete account of the event and the development of KiteFoil racing:

The event came to an end with the prizegiving on the beach, and the crowning of the 2016 European Champions.
