Freeride Kitesurf is a boutique kitesurf, foil and wingfoil travel company dedicated to creating unforgettable kite adventures across some of the world’s most iconic wind destinations. From adrenaline-fueled downwinders along the northeast of Brazil’s wild coastline to luxury catamaran kite cruises through the Greek Cyclades, we design trips that combine world-class conditions, professional guidance and a genuine sense of exploration – whether you are on a multi-day downwind trip along Brazil’s coast or on a downwinder from island to island on the Cyclades’ turquoise waters, you will get the best of each destination in a safe and professional environment.
What makes you special?
We’re not a conventional kite school or a big-box travel agency. Our specialty is crafting tailor-made, expertly guided kitesurfing, foiling and wingfoiling trips for riders who want more than just a holiday. What sets us apart is our attention to detail. We offer small, curated groups (maximum 12 riders on downwinders, 8 on cruises) for safety, progression and a community vibe. We have a full-service approach – from airport pickup to accommodation, 4×4 support vehicles, on-water guides and coaches, boat crews, top-notch latest equipment (sponsored by North and Mystic), coaching and local logistics. We have a deep local knowledge, which allows us to adapt routes and sessions to daily wind conditions, ensuring you’re always in the best spot at the best time. We offer high-level coaching from IKO-certified instructors and seasoned guides who know how to balance challenge, safety and pure fun. Our trips are designed to feel seamless, personal and inspiring. You ride, we take care of everything else.
Where are you based?
Freeride Kitesurf operates globally, organizing trips in Brazil, Greece and South Africa. Our operational hub and booking center run through our multilingual website, which serves riders worldwide. We have 10 years of experience on our back (Freeride Kitesurf was founded in 2016), starting our operations in the northeast of Brazil and quickly the rest of the destinations started to follow. We have local teams at each destination we offer, ensuring deep local knowledge, which is essential to be able to provide a safe yet adventurous experience.
How long have you and your team been kiting?
We have years of experience kiting, sailing and more recently wingfoiling. We have been coaching, exploring and pioneering routes in the regions where we operate for more than a decade. Running complex downwinders or guiding multi-day cruises requires expertise – and our team has it in abundance. We are passionate about what we do, we are driven by our passion for wind, nature and adventure, and we transmit this love for what we do through the experiences we offer. Riders consistently praise our professionalism, calm energy and the sense of safety we create.
Where are most of your clients from?
Freeride’s community is truly international. Thanks to our English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and German platforms, along with trips in South America and Europe, our guests come mainly from across Europe, but also from the US and Canada. Many travel solo, joining our small groups to kite, connect and explore with like-minded riders.
Talk us through some highlights from your most recent season.
Our latest Brazil season delivered some of our most unforgettable downwinders yet. Imagine riding 1,200 km of pristine coastline, passing empty lagoons, mangroves, sand dunes, river deltas, and fishing villages – accessible only by kite. Riders loved the mix of long scenic downwinders, secret flat-water spots, and playful wave sections. The support system (guides in the water, 4×4s tracking the group, boats and quads where vehicles don’t reach, and nightly stays in beachside pousadas) made the adventure feel both wild and comfortable. When clients say it’s been the “best trip of their life!” and “it completely exceeded my expectations!” it means we are doing something right. Our Greece catamaran season was equally magical: doing downwinders between islands following our Lagoon 46 catamaran, launching kites and wings straight off the boat in wild magical spots away from the crowds and chasing the powerful Meltemi winds, has offered them a true “boat life” experience. Guests loved the balance of comfort and adventure – the ensuite cabins, onboard chef, SUP sessions, dawn swims and the freedom of sailing wherever the wind led us.

The next season is already buzzing with anticipation. Here’s what’s lined up: BrazilDownwind2026 – multiple routes, including long-distance expeditions and wave-focused coaching trips; GreeceCatamaranCruises2026 – new departure dates, upgraded boats, and new island routes depending on wind patterns; South African Experience for Feb 2027 – delivering top-level coaching for every level with pro riders, exploring South Africa’s best spots, epic sessions, elite progression, and unforgettable exploration along the raw, untamed beauty of the Western Cape’s wild coastline.
