THE LOWDOWN
We at White Paradise Zanzibar cooperate closely with Just Go Kite School, which is part of our external beach bar, Just A Bar, located only five minutes by car from our resort. There, you can enjoy a comfortable and well-equipped beachfront setting with access to Wi-Fi, clean showers and toilets, and a relaxing chill-out area.
For those looking to stay active, we also offer kayaks and paddles, as well as a spacious deck perfect for yoga sessions. If you prefer to unwind, you’ll find sunbeds and umbrellas available for your comfort. To complete the experience, we serve a special menu with a selection of drinks and delicious food, making it an ideal spot to spend the day by the ocean.
The Just Go Kite team rides in a calm lagoon with shallow, warm and beautifully clear water, where you’ll feel comfortable whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your riding to the next level. Thanks to the trade winds, the wind here is consistent, giving us plenty of days with great conditions to ride. And since it’s not crowded, you’ll have plenty of space and peace to truly enjoy your time on the water.
For us, it’s not just about lessons, we want you to feel good, share some laughs with us, and leave with an experience you’ll always be happy to remember. Our spot is perfect for both beginners and advanced riders. You can also bring a friend or partner along, they can relax at the bar, enjoy kayaking, or join a yoga session while you’re out on the water.

KITING SETUP
Just Go Kite offers complete kiting equipment suitable for all levels of riders. Their range of kites (8 to 17m²) allows them to choose the ideal size based on current wind conditions and each rider’s experience. They also provide a wide selection of boards – from stable beginner-friendly models to advanced boards for experienced riders looking to progress their skills.
Harnesses for both children and adults are available, ensuring comfort and proper support while riding. For maximum safety, impact vests and helmets are provided. The school also thinks about comfort, offering Lycra shirts and hats for sun protection. In addition, lessons are enhanced with communication devices between the instructor and the rider, making the learning process more efficient and enjoyable.

WHEN IS BEST TO GO?
The best time for kiting in Zanzibar is during two main wind seasons. The first one, called Kaskazi (December to March), brings warm and steady winds that are ideal for both beginners and advanced riders. The second season, Kuzi (June to October), offers stronger and more consistent winds, which are especially appreciated by more experienced riders.
During these periods, the wind blows regularly and the conditions are very reliable. The best spots are located on the east coast, where the wind is side-shore and the water remains shallow thanks to the lagoons. Wind speeds typically range between 14 to 25 knots.

NO WIND?
When there is no wind in Zanzibar, guests can take advantage of our sports equipment, such as kayaks and paddleboards, or go snorkeling and explore the underwater world. A gym is also available for those who want to stay active, and there is also the option to play padel.
In our bar, guests can easily find out about the current program and join various activities such as yoga, Pilates, or a fun pub quiz. Even without wind, everyone can find a way to enjoy their day to the fullest.

Getting There

Our resort and the school is approximately 40km from the airport but with the local roads the journey takes around one hour. We recommend you book the airport pickup with us to end up in the correct location – one way trip is 60 USD, round tripiIs 110 USD.

Kite Options

There’s no need to bring a large amount of equipment – you can usually manage with kites from 9 to 13 m². The exact size depends on the rider’s weight and height, as well as the current wind conditions. This combination typically covers most days and allows for comfortable riding in both lighter and stronger winds.

Which Wetsuit?

In Zanzibar, the water is warm all year round, usually around 27 to 29°C, so for most riders, a swimsuit or bikini is perfectly sufficient. However, if you’re planning longer sessions or riding early in the morning or later in the evening, it’s recommended to bring a thin wetsuit (2mm or spring suit), which helps protect against slight cooling, sun exposure, and possible abrasions from the board. Thicker wetsuits are not necessary, as the water stays pleasantly warm, but a thin wetsuit can provide extra comfort and protection without restricting movement while kiting.

Beer

Beer costs 4 USD in the resort but we offer a “membership” – when you have more than 10 drinks you get 25% discount, forever.

Typical Dinner

Zanzibar is renowned for its incredible seafood, as well as its fresh fruits and vegetables. At our resort, we offer an à la carte dining experience, allowing us to focus on high-quality ingredients and carefully crafted dishes. Our menu highlights local flavors while incorporating creative twists inspired by cuisines from around the world, giving guests a unique and memorable culinary experience.

Late Night

There are clubs in the small town 10 minutes away, but we do also organize events or can organize a special party for you.
