North launches their 2025 Freestyle Collection

North’s new 2025 Pulse is now out, the modern-C kite lighting fires on the Freestyle scene. The Pulse heroes the new season 2025 Freestyle Collection from North, which also includes a new Navigator Freestyle 5-Line Control System, completely redesigned Focus Freestyle/Freeride twintip, new Flare Wakestyle/Park twintip, and Fix Boots.

Pulse

A modern twist on an old-school C-kite, the latest Pulse kite from North delivers the explosive power freestyle riders crave for technical tricks – its modern-C geometry specifically engineered for maneuvers involving handle passes and unhooking. The Pulse provides riders with the powerful and dynamic turning needed for advanced freestyle and wakestyle maneuvers through a combination of its modern C-kite shape with straighter wing tips, a direct front-line connection, adjustable steering impulse at the wing tips, fast flying characteristics, and lightweight construction.

North teamrider Ozzie Smith says from the moment he unrolled the Pulse, he could tell this kite meant business: “It has that classic Modern-C kite shape-deep canopy, squared-off wingtips, and a compact, aggressive profile. On the water, the Pulse delivers exactly what you’d expect from a C-kite; smooth, consistent pull with incredible feedback through the bar. The moment you unhook, you feel the power load up perfectly, setting you up for maximum pop. The release is crisp, and the slack is exactly what you need for technical freestyle tricks.”

What really stood out to Ozzie was how cleanly the kite flies through loops: “The Pulse has that whip-like turning speed that sends you rocketing through powered rotations without stalling midloop. The bar pressure is balanced – enough to keep you connected but not so heavy that it wears you out. Compared to hybrids, it’s a completely different world: pure, direct, and explosive.”

The Pulse kite is available in four sizes: 7, 9, 11 and 13 m.

Focus

For 2025, the Focus twintip has a more aggressive flex pattern and squarer outline. The triaxial hybrid carbon technology features 3DY unidirectional carbon reinforcement for a balanced and responsive flex, with the center spine and double concave bottom shape helping to reduce the impact load on landings. Full-length rail channels form a second lip at the tip, outside of the fin area, to give the board more hold. The North Engineers have also stiffened up the board’s tail, with additional thickness flow, so you can really load up and spring in flatwater conditions.

“The latest Focus board feels more responsive underfoot, adding that extra snap without feeling too rigid. The updated bottom contours and extra rail hold lock you in when edging hard, making takeoffs feel solid and controlled,” says Ozzie.

Flare

The durable Composite 2025 Flare has a high wakestyle rocker for gentle landings and PressFlex tips for smooth, controlled presses. Carve up the park, slice the flats, hold your rail upwind; the Flare is designed for advanced riders to slide between kite and park with maximum pop.

When you pair your Focus and Flare with the Fix TwinTip Boots, you’ll have bigger pop, powered unhooked tricks and harder landings covered.
