Eleveight Master C+ V8

A couple of months ago, a shipment from Eleveight landed at our door packed with goodies. We tested and reviewed the Stellar V3, which you can read about in our previous issue. Now it’s time to turn our attention to the latest Master C+ V8. Our test board came in the 136 × 41.5cm size, although it’s also available in a larger 139 × 42cm version.

As soon as we unpacked the Master C+ V8, the first thing that caught our attention was its weight or rather, the lack of it. It felt noticeably lighter than expected. A quick look at the spec sheet explained why: the Master C+ is built using the most advanced materials in Eleveight’s lineup. So, what does that mean in practice? It starts with a specially engineered wood core that trims around 250 grams compared to its standard version. From there, Eleveight combines carefully selected fibers and composite materials, all topped with an aerospace-grade carbon fiber laminate. The result is an exceptionally lightweight board with a highly responsive and distinctive flex pattern.

The amount of engineering that has gone into the Master C+ is immediately apparent. The underside features an intricate channel layout that extends across almost the entire base, while the overall finish exudes a premium, high-end feel. Our test board also came equipped with Eleveight’s Airgo V5 footpads. Installation is quick and straightforward; the adjustment options make it easy to dial in the perfect stance for any rider and once on the water they deliver excellent comfort and plenty of grip.

At first glance, we assumed the Master C+ V8 leaned heavily towards freestyle, so it ended up sitting in storage for a few weeks while we made the most of an endless run of Big Air conditions. Eventually, we decided it was time to give it a proper test. Our first session was in a mellow Poniente, with chop scattered across the entire spot, one of those days we probably would have skipped but since we needed to start the test at some point, we headed out anyway. From the very first tack, the board’s flex stood out. It sits firmly on the stiffer end of the spectrum, yet surprisingly, that never translated into a harsh ride. Even in messy, choppy water, it remained comfortable and composed. Loading up for jumps felt effortless, while landings were smooth and forgiving. The conditions weren’t particularly demanding, but they were enough to make us realize that the Master C+ had far more to offer than a pure freestyle character. Fortunately, the following day the Levante returned in full force, bringing significantly stronger winds. Encouraged by our first impressions, we committed to riding the Master C+ exclusively throughout the week and it proved to be the right decision.

The name of the game with this board is grip. No matter what conditions we threw at it – and trust us, we went out on a couple of survival days where only two other top riders were on the water – the Master C+ never disappointed. It delivers massive grip, holding its edge flawlessly even in the wildest gusts. It’s incredibly easy to load, yields a massive vertical pop, and provides controlled, forgiving landings.

We completely misjudged the Master C+ from the start. We usually avoid looking at product info prior to our tests to keep our perspective unbiased, so we assumed it was a dedicated freestyle board. As it turned out, it is an exceptional freeride, freestyle, and, above all, Big Air weapon. While we didn’t get a chance to test it in proper kickers due to a run of high winds, flat water, and heavy chop, we can confidently say that it remains incredibly comfortable given the high level of stiffness and performance it delivers.

So, who is it for? We’d recommend the Master C+ to intermediate and advanced riders looking for a lightweight, precise and uncompromising high-performance twintip that excels across a wide range of wind and water conditions. Whether your focus is freeride, freestyle or chasing bigger airs, this is the kind of board that won’t hold back your progression. Instead, it encourages you to ride faster, jump higher and keep pushing your limits.
