The Beekite Village Kitesurf Center is located in the small and dreamy fishing village of Praiado Macapà. We have been here for almost 10 years. Due to the beautiful and varied spot, Macapà is enjoying increasing popularity in the kite world year after year. Our centre and pousada is located right on the beach with an area of 5000 square metres. In 2020 we expanded our station with 11 beautiful beach chalets so you can stay right at the spot. All chalets have a small terrace and can sleep up to four people. We serve breakfast, consisting of lots of fresh fruits, delicious shakes, freshly baked bread and cold cuts in our breakfast area, also built in 2020. There is a small beach bar and restaurant at the kite stations where you can get fresh fruit shakes, açaí, fruit salad and dishes at lunchtime.

THE LOWDOWN

Due to the beautiful and varied spot, Macapà is enjoying increasing popularity in the kite world year after year. Our center and pousada is located right on the beach with an area of ​​5000 square meters. In 2020 we expanded our station with 11 beautiful beach chalets so you can stay right at the spot. All chalets have a small terrace and can sleep up to four people. We serve breakfast, consisting of lots of fresh fruits, delicious shakes, freshly baked bread and cold cuts in our breakfast area, also built in 2020. There is a small beach bar and restaurant at the kite station where you can get fresh fruit shakes, açaí, fruit salad and hot dishes at lunchtime.

KITING SET UP

Beautiful lagoons surrounded by white sandbanks form shallow water to the horizon at low tide. A river mouth forms a huge basin, about three square kilometers, that is as smooth as a mirror at low tide – a real dream spot ideal for beginners and freestylers learning new maneuvers. The mouth can be reached with a small upwinder (about four tacks) from the Beekite Village and you get back to Macapà by a comfortable downwinder. The center is manned from sunrise to sunset. Our beach boys Pablo and Arthur will help you with starting and landing the kites from morning to night. We offer courses and rental, using North and Mystic gear, and there is a newly built storage area, all right on the spot. Pumping in 35 degrees heat is spared thanks to the compressor, and after your session, you can wash your equipment on the specially created lawn with fresh water. The kite center also has showers and toilets.

WHEN IS BEST TO GO?

The windy season runs from July to the end of February. In July and February the wind can be a bit weaker, while in the other months we can expect 18 to over 30 knots.

NO WIND?

If there is no wind, which is very unlikely, you’ll probably just be happy to have a day off to chill in the hammocks by the pool!

Getting There

You can come with your own rental car or transfer from Fortaleza or Jericoacoara airports. The latter also has connections to nearby Parnaiba Airport.

The best kites to bring are 8 and 10m.

Typical Dinner

We make pizza in our pousada, which is not typically Brazilian but a luxury you can have here. We also have fresh fish and other options available.

Late Night

The bars and restaurants are open until 11pm. Sometimes we have some Brazilian parties until 3am.
