THE LOWDOWN

At ION CLUB Risco del Paso, you will find a large sandy beach with long walks, flat water, waves and wind all year round, which makes this spot unique. It offers you many conditions at the same time. Tides and the wind play with the sand and create flat water lagoons, which are perfect for kiting and are used for beginner lessons, giving the students a very safe feeling. The offshore wind gives you a unique view of this magical spot, made only of sand and dunes. You can also progress in the waves on the left side of the center. No matter your level, the conditions allow you to enjoy learning or progress.

KITING SET UP

The conditions can change from perfect flat water to beautiful wave riding conditions. At ION CLUB Risco del Paso, the wind blows side offshore to offshore from the left. The wind is quite strong and reliable, particularly in summer. In spring and autumn there are also good conditions. When the tide is high, you can find a flat lagoon. The waves to the left-hand side can get up to two meters high. There are no rocks or stones to disturb your session, only pure sand.

WHEN IS BEST TO GO?

The wind remains constant all year, but the best season in Risco del Paso is from May to September.

NO WIND?

If there is no wind, you can take a surfboard and enjoy the waves all over the island during winter. There are spots for all levels and Fuerteventura is very well known by wave lovers. You can discover Fuerteventura’s beautiful landscapes such as Cofete in the south, located in one of the natural parks of Fuerteventura. It’s worth visiting the small town of La Pared with a lovely beach and waves perfect for surfing. A must-do on your trip is to sit on the cliffs of La Pared and watch the sun disappear on the horizon. For hiking fans, there is Baranco de las Peñitas – after a walk through volcanic rocks, saying hello to the local chipmunks and goats, you will find a window in the rock with a nice view of the mountains.
