Mauritius is heaven for water sports enthusiasts. As a kitesurfer, this is definitely a place you should tick on your bucket list. No other spot in the world is so diverse, combining all the conditions you may dream of in just one spot. ION CLUB Le Morne is re-inventing itself since the beginning of 2023. You can now find us at several points all over the spot including on the Kite Lagoon side of Le Morne at the RIU Turquoise Hotel starting from June 1st. From flat water to waves, there is something for everyone.

Kiting Set Up

The spot is formed by a peninsula slightly off the central coastline, right on the foot of the majestic Le Morne Brabant Mountain. Beginners can learn in a knee-to-waist-deep standing area with flat water and onshore wind, which is also the perfect place to train freestyle tricks and just 200 m, the conditions shift to side-shore with more chop, offering ideal bump and jump conditions. Waves are breaking on the reef about 400m from the shore; everything you can imagine from beginner to expert kite level. ION CLUB is located all over the spot to ensure security for all riders.

When is best to go?

Le Morne season is from April to December.

No wind?

If there is no wind, you can easily surf and enjoy a stand-up paddle ride surrounded by all the beautiful landscapes. You can also discover the beauty of Mauritius: The Black River Gorges, with the 7 waterfalls, offers a wide choice of guided walks that are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. Of course, you’ve got to hike on Le Morne mountain and admire the view of all the coasts. There are also the seven Coloured piles of the earth, a geological formation, and prominent tourist attractions found in the Chamarel plain of the Rivière Noire District. Finally, have a unique experience of swimming activity with dolphins in their natural environment!
