Windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, mountain biking, and now wingfoiling are the sources of our total commitment! The extraordinary and inspiring places where our ION CLUB centers are located promise to be the backdrop for the most exciting days of your year. Our professional and specialized skills motivate and bring our guests to the next level. These qualities are underpinned by the fact that we use the latest equipment and only operate at all the very best spots on the planet. Our guests can always find the latest equipment for rental and qualified instructors for lessons no matter your level: beginner, intermediate, or advanced.
Where are you based, and when were you established?
We were established in 1985. We are still and will always have our base in Germany. In 2022, we inaugurated our second international office in Tarifa. For four years now, our international team has been split and works from different places in Europe: Tarifa, Paris, Marseille, Kos… Then we have centers in Fuerteventura, Tarifa, Golf de Roses, Safaga, Mauritius, Cabarete, Cape Verde, Essaouira and Dakhla, Greece, Turkey…
Where are most of your clients from?
Most of our clients come from Germany, France, England, Spain and Switzerland. However, we also have a lot of clients from Austria, Italy, Poland and eastern Europe. At ION CLUB, you will meet like-minded people from all over the world and our company has always given top priority to customer orientation, team spirit, innovation and professionalism.
How long have you and your team been kiting?
Our company was one of the first to offer kiting as an option back in 2001.
What makes you special compared to other kiting businesses?
The story of lON CLUB is about people who have turned their passion for windsurfing and kiting, and now wingfoiling, into a career. So we trust our international team to ensure that our guests can enjoy every second of their holiday, whether on the land or the water. Their enthusiasm is the guarantee that you get the moments you are searching for.
Can you talk us through some special moments from your most recent trip/season?
We are very happy to tell you that our ION CLUB in Cabarete has moved location. Our new home is still located directly on the spot, at the Villa Taina beach. Moreover, our ION CLUB in Mauritius is re-inventing itself, and you can find us at several points all over the spot and of course still on the kite lagoon side of Le Morne. All the other centers are also experiencing renovations. Last but not least, we are proud to welcome Matchu Lopes into the ION CLUB family as our ION CLUB Sal Ambassador. We hope for many more to join.
Is anything special lined up for the next few months?
After being the first to create the Club Mistral dedicated to windsurfing in the 80s, then having developed the kite since the 2000s, since 2020 we are developing wingfoil and continue to develop it at all our ION CLUB centers! We are currently still equipping all our ION CLUBs with wing gear, and welcoming to the family of board sports this third activity for all wind lovers.
